In the "I love My Cafe" section of the latest Frankie, there is an article about Flamingo Cafe.

Twice on my trips to brisbane i have ventured into this little cafe.

It truly is amazing.

Sitting on hamburger & corn stools at little glass tables you feast your eyes on the delicious menu.

The smoothies are delicious and the food is homemade goodness.

I definitly recommend.

It is down a little alleyway in the Valley, you would never know it was there.

The people working are laughing and carrying on in the kitchen, it is just a fun place to be.

I'm fifteen going on sixteen and i think I'm starting to discover who i am.

I love to listen to the rain at night, and i think to much about everything.

I took these photos with B a week ago.

It was incredibly hot, we were savaged by mosquitoes and the TV was extremely heavy and took ages to carry down to our spot.

But it was great fun, when paired with laughter, lamingtons and a refreshing dip in the pool afterwards.

Sorry no pretty pictures today, my computer is being uncooperative. However, B and I took some rather lovely photos a couple of days ago, so i shall share them with you soon.

What have you been up to for Valentines' ? I went and had a delicious lunch at a cafe called Baked Poetry, then went for a walk on the beach with Mum and Dad. Regardless of whether you are in a relationship or not i think Valentines' is a wonderful day to appreciate the ones you love and spend time ith family and friends. Or even just spoiling yourself :)

In my last post I asked you to ask me a question. Here are my answers.

Liana: where are you from?
I'm from the Sunshine Coast (Australia) which is not very sunny at the moment, though it is lovely all the same.

Catherine: what is a quirk of yours lovely?
I get excited very easily, and when i'm in the mood i ramble on and go off on major tangents. I also like to dance . . . everywhere! I'm just sort of weird in general :)

Fenia: whats you're fav band?
This is such a hard question! I have a list of the bands i love on the side of my blog but i would have to say Lisa Mitchell and Whitley top the list.

Dandelion Daydream Photography and Andrea both asked: did you take the photos?
Oh i wish i could say yes! I would love to be able to capture such beautiful light on film. I will however post some more of my own photos soon.

The Girl with the Satchel: what is your fave movie?
It would have to be Chicago, it is just captivating. I went and saw the stage show in Brisbane which was incredible. I also love Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, Samson and Delilah and The Kite Runner.

This Lovely City: what's your favorite thing about and blogging & where would you like it to lead you?
What i love so much about blogging is the amazing sense of community and the inspiration and new ideas i am exposed to every day. I have learnt so much about who i am and it gives such a good feeling to be surrounded by like-minded people. I don't know exactly where i would like blogging to lead me, i just want to keep meeting inspiring people and create friendships. It would love to collaberate with someone or group of people in a creative project in the future. At the moment i just want to have fun!

I'd like to apologise for my lack of posts, I don’t know where my time has gone?

These photos are by an amazing 15 year old photographer by the name of David Urbanke. Thank you to Amanda at Here Comes The Sun for this stunning find.

Oh and those of you (if any) who live in the Brisbane you should come along to one of The Medics’ shows. I discovered their music when I was at Woodford and have been hooked ever since. They are a young indie band from cairns and have toured with Something & Numbers , The Panics, The Grates, Faker, Blue King Brown, Scribe, Kisschasy, Amity Affliction, Behind Crimson Eyes and City Riots.
You’ll love them too, (and they wear quite amazing clothes.)

I am a confessed magazine-aholic.

Only with great difficulty can I walk out of a newsagent without the crisp cover of a new magazine in my hands.

I just love the smell of the thick paper and the inspiration lurking hidden in the pages.

The feel of the publishing between my fingers is almost magical.

Happy New Year everyone!
I have spent the last week of the year at Woodford Folk Festival and I can safely say it was the best week of my life.

I saw the John Butler Trio, they are all so talented. The man himself did the best guitar solo i have ever seen it was insane! There was the most peaceful vibe throughout their set. Truly magical.

I also saw Hungry Kids of Hungary, Whitley (ahh froth), The Medics (new favourite band), The Audreys, Tripod (halarious), The Middle East, Endorphin, Afro Dizzi Act and Ryan Meeking and the Few. If you haven't heard their music I seriously recommend!

They were all wonderful but the highlight of my week was seeing LISA MITCHELL. She sounds amazing on her album but she is breath-taking live. What's more, my friends and I snuck out the back and met her in person! She is an incredibly welcoming, friendly, beautiful and talented person.

I'm back from my holiday, it was amazing.

We went for a flight in a seaplane and the world looked so small and insignificant, like a little toy town!

These photos I took quite a while ago, I think these are my favorites out of the colletion but I keep changing my mind.

I had so much planned the day I took these photos, so many ideas. I was only getting started and my camera decided to break. It was quite a sad moment. I'm getting a new one soon though :)

Isn't he the cutest? Not to mention his incredible music!

Since i acquired his new album Go Forth Find Mammoth it has been on repeat on my ipod and CD player . I just love his beautiful melodies and the way each track flows harmoniously into the next.I'm excited because I'm seeing him live at Woodford at the end of the year :) It's going to be amazing.

This is the man himself performing a cover of Abba's Dancing Queen for Triple J's 'Like a Version'. I think its slightly eerie, uplifting and sad all at once.

Here's how my day went.

1. Work meeting as a result of change in menu which went for over and hour and a half.

2. Nearly missed my bus because of work meeting but was pretty proud of myself with my extreme bus catching skills.

3. Beach with a couple of friends, the water was magical.

4. Caught bus home, i was the only one on the bus and the moustached bus driver insisted on talking to me even though i was at the back of the bus and was listening to my ipod.

5. Appointment with guidance officer about changing subjects. I'm torn between physics and drama. I just want someone to tell me how to plan my life but it seems i will have to do it myself.

*Oh!* and i ordered an amazing bunch of flowers for my mummy and daddy for christmas! Its going to be huge and colourful and arrive at our doorstep chirstmas eve - they're going to be so suprised!

It really was quite an enjoyable day (I'm just so confused about subjects and the like)

15. Muffins: the best muffin i have ever had was chocolate and strawberries - the strawberries were whole and they melted in your mouth. I have also always loved carrot and zucchini.

16. Wish list items: brown leather high heels with laces, Frankie calender, Sniffle Co Brooch, and a pretty vintage dress would be nice.

17. Where did you grow up: where i am still living - a small town in the sunshine coast QLD.

18. Last thing you did: ate cornflakes and did my art assignment.

19. What are you wearing: school uniform which consits of a white blouse, green pleated skirt and white socks, how boring!

20. Your TV: is the same age as me!

21. Your pets: Tigger and Lizzie - beautiful cats, And mango -a Mexican walking fish :)

22. Your friends: are amazing. I can't describe them in words.

23. Your life: is great. There are things I'd like to change, but when i think of the amount of people living in poverty I realise how lucky i am.

24. Your mood: I'm quite happy,

25. Missing someone: many people. My whole family as they all live on the other side of the world.

26. Vehicle: i don't really take much notice of cars but when i get my first car I'd love to have a cream Beetle.

27. Something you're not wearing: makeup.

28. Your favourite store: well locally it would have to be Youth Culture, or Forever New. I would start to name the online shops but i don't think i will be able to stop!

29. Your favourite colour: when i was little i used to say yellow. I still say yellow when people ask me because I seriously have no idea, I love all colours!

30. When's the last time you laughed: today, i can't even remember why, all i know is i was crying it was so funny.

31. When's the last time you cried: at work last Saturday. I was going to the storeroom when i saw an old lady sitting at a table crying. I suddenly became overwhelmed with compassion and sympathy and before i knew it i started crying too.

32. Your best friend: is B. We have been best friends since we were three or four and i hope our friendship continues forever. She is the definition of amazing.

33. One place you go over and over: the beach.

34. One person who emails me regularly: I actually don't get emails from anybody :( feel free - you_are_somebodys_princess@hotmail.com

35. Favourite place to eat: krung thep - best Thai restaurant!

I spent today at the dress rehearsal for my dance concert. Its going to be amazing.

I apologise is advance if I am a bit slack on making posts. I am so busy at the moment juggling dance, school and work, I hardly get any time to myself. But I'll do the best i can.

1. If you read Frankie you might be familiar with Lu Flux's clothing collection. I think its truly magical.

2. Victoria Mason's jewellry is absolutly amazing. I'm especially taken with her pencil shaving necklace.

3. Where the Wild Things Are, is easily my favoroute childhood book and I can wait to see Spike Jonze's film interpretation.

I went to some markets and found an amazing vintage stall. I bought these 80's 'Indescratchables' sunglasses and a pretty doily for my bedside table.

During one of my rampant Internet sessions, i stumbled upon polyvore.com. Its a huge fashion site where you can hunt through endless pages of clothes, shoes, bags, accessories etc. But what makes it so special is you can put together what they call 'sets'. Little collages of your favourite things! Its incredibly easy to use and is a great site for those looking for inspiration!

I've really been getting into photography lately. Suddenly I'm seeing things and thinking "wow, that would make an amazing photo!" and running and getting my camera. I'd love to purchase a decent camera - perhaps a Song SLR? At the moment I've just been using the family's digital camera which is quite dated but it gets the job done.
